Diamanten sind Kristalle des Kohlenstoffs.
Durch spezielle Anordnung der Atome im Kristall entstehen die besonderen Eigenschaften des Diamanten. Diamanten werden mit Reichtum und Licht asoziiert und sind der härteste natürliche Stoff.
Licht ist eine der wichtigsten Themen der Kunst. Oft hört man: Ohne Licht keine Kunst, richtiger wäre es: Ohne Licht kein Sehen.
Licht in der Kunst ist auf vielfältige Weiße interessant, und die Bildende Kunst beschäftigt sich schon immer ganz besonders mit Sehen.
Diamanten und Kunst haben auch weitere Gemeinsamkeit, die der Repräsentation. Außerdem sind sie beide sowohl gewöhnlich wie auch wertwoll. Das wird in beiden Fällen durch besondere Behandlung und Präsentation unter speziellen Bedienungen betont.
Wie bei Diamanten und anderen Kristallen, in der Schmuck und Mode Industrie, ist auch bei der Kunst und im Kunstbetrieb Glanz einer von wichtigsten Merkmalen. Etwas, manchmal viel davon färbt auf KünstlerInnen ab.
Schöner Vergleich ist es auch, die Künstlerische Arbeit, als eine, die Ordnung aus gewöhnlichem schafft, zu bezeichnen, wie in Falle des Diamanten und Kohleatoms.
Teilnehmende Künstlerinnen beschäftigen sich in ihrer Arbeit mit diesen Themen, Licht und Repräsentation, in klassischen oder medialen Räumen, in dem Bezug auf die formale Aspekte der jeweiligen Kunstform, die zeitgenossische Kunst, die Kunstszene, die Medien oder auch die eigene Person.
Kristalle in den Bildschirmen von digitalen Geräten sind flüssig, wohl gut passend zur der Welt die in allen ihren Aspekten in Bewegung zu sein scheint.

DIAMONDS
Diamonds are crystals of carbon.
The extraordinary properties of diamonds are formed by the special arrangement of atoms in the crystal. Diamonds are often associated with wealth and light and are the hardest natural material.
Light is one of the most important themes of art. One often hears: Without light there is no art. Better still: Without light there is no sight.
Light in art is interesting on many levels and fine art has always characteristically dealt with sight.
Diamonds and art have another thing in common: representation. They are both ordinary and at the same time valuable. In both cases this is emphasised through exceptional treatment and presentation under particular circumstances.
Just as with diamonds and other crystals in the fashion industry - in art and the art scene - shininess is one of the most important characteristics. This very thing sometimes rubs off on artists a great deal.
A nice comparison is artistic work which creates order from the ordinary as is the case of the diamond and the carbon atom.
Participating artists deal with the themes light and representation in classical or medial spaces, in relation to the formal aspects of the respective art forms, contemporary art, the art scene, media or to the individual.
Crystals in screens of digital devices are liquid. How apt in a world seemingly in movement in all its aspects.
