BB Tour is a collaborative project centered around a series of eleven 195 × 115 cm paintings created jointly by emerging Norwegian artists Alfred Brekke, Bønna Tenvik and Kjeld Undseth presented by the Viennese artspace Kunstraum am Schauplatz No Institute in collaboration with Interstar Garage.
The project unfolds as a traveling exhibition: the paintings are transported by van, accompanied by a camper,on a route passing through Austria, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Beginning in Vienna April 9, 2026,and ending in Amsterdam, the tour consists of a series of one-night-only exhibitions staged along the way.
These take place in different venues, from gallery spaces to public pop-ups, combining pre-arranged venues with spontaneous opportunities that arise on the road. While on tour, a music album will be recorded, and released in Amsterdam at the final venue.
It will all be documented through video and photography by Emil Tripamer. Through this, the tour itself is the Gesamtkunstwerk—a work of art in which process, movement, and presentation are inseparable.
The painting series began as life-size depictions of the bodybuilder Frank Zane, a key influence on Arnold
Schwarzenegger. Building on this foundation, Undseth invited Brekke and Tenvik into a fully collaborative process.
The figures were recontextualized within a range of environments populated by mythological characters, animals, fragments of Vienna, the Donau, with references to folklore and historical paintings.
The artists developed each work through dialogue, collective decision-making, and direct intervention in one another’s painting process, aiming to merge into one artistic voice.
BB Tour is an open and associative title, detached from a single meaning. BB could be Bodybuilder, Boy Band,Bebe, Bye Bye, Bingo Bongo, or something else.
